Hey guys,
New here and lookign for some answers that even toyota cant tell me.
I am looking at getting some pistons from a 4agze from Toyota, but theres 4 different series of them all the same part number but end in different numbers -- 01 02 03, I need the forged ones with the the cir-clip that would suit a nissane RB20.
Yes i am looking at stroking and boring it out to a 2.4ltr, so i am asking the experts which pistons / toyota part numbers do i need
Cheers

from memory, there was a thread on toymods *cough*
I think there were only 2 different types of pistons, reguardless of part numbers, the ones you want are the later ones. Altho, rumour has it aw11 pistons have bigger oil ring lands, and you know what that means.......http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif

Everything i have read says these are 81mm, so they will suit a 82mm bore?
i have no idea hwich pistons i need, i know that it shouldnt matter as these pistons will sit down 2mm fro mthe top of the block anyway lowering the compression a fair bit

I can help you but contact me at work. www.roadandtrack.net.au.
NOne of the stock Toyota pistons will suit what you are doing. I build engines like this for a living.

The 01 02 03 at the end of the part numbers refers to minor differences in outside diameter of the piston. Which is nothing to worry about if you are getting your block bored to suit the pistons. The difference is small 01 being the smallest and 03 the largest and I think the difference in size is about 0.10mm from 01 to 03. If you use these pistons you get the block bored to 81mm (this can change depending on application) as the pistons are slightly smaller eg. 80.9mm. Hope this helps a bit.
