it would be very expensive dude. try such for the s2000 sprinter converison on google. alot of fab to do. and the motor it self is expensive.

and anything else like a integra motor you cant get a rwd gearbox.

very expensive but it can be done, just need the bling bling

no rwd box and they spin the wrong way. F20C is the only rel Honda option, start saving.

yeah its worth it if thats what you want and have enough time, money and patience. I am looking into it right now because I dont want to stick with some outdated 20 valve engine that doesnt even have variable lift

lol.. VTECH..

aside from that... what 4AGE are you using requires custom engine mounts to fit into an AE86???

ALL 4A engines will bolt in.. a bracket or 2 might have to be moved.. but they all have the provisions in the block..

just do crazy vtec head conversion on a 4A. totally impossible but probably cheaper.

when we started building a lotus 7 replica we thought about using an s2000 motor, but then youd need the diff and gear box and everything otherwise when you put it in first your going to go backwards http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif

AFAIK the diff is normal.. the gearbox changes the rotation.. but i havn't confirmed this.. Nathan has told me of this, as his F20C conversion into his AE86 is using the JDM big axle rear end.. as it now uses billet axles http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif .... he will be stuffed if it doesn't lol!

Simply quoting stuff I've read on the internet here, but the S2000 and onwards Hondas moved to engines spinning the normal way.

I am very sure the F20C spins the right way too. 4th gear (maybe 5th in a 6 spd) is a solid join of input and output shafts, so if it works with an AE86 diff then engine must spin the right way.

Hen

PS, forget about it unless you have a big wallet, great fab skills and a lot of time.

so you are going to spend considerable time and money to swap motors and possibly drivetrain for an improvement i think you would hardly notice

i would stick with the 20v if i were you

but of course if you start on some crazy conversion keep us informed! http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/2thumbs.gif

i'd go for a Beams 3SGE NA conversion.. not quite as much HP.. but still around the 200 reigion, little things like extractors, and intake should yeild some good results.. plus you can use the 6 spd altezza g/box that the come infront of.. check out Anthonys Trueno in members cars.. only he is using a hair dryer..

Like this?

Nah I wouldn't. It's a pain in the arse to fit. Just put in a 7A with bigger pistons and a stroked crank if you want something closer to two litres. Much easier in every way.

Power cost money.
How much power do you want?
You can get over 200hp at the wheels if you are willing.

Its VTEC and yes its very popular in Japan. You can pick up an engine package for the f20c for around $10,000
