Yes I have search but I don't want to swap my old Aus spec brakes for other used brakes I want everything brand new. I am currently doing a CA18DET engine conversion so I will need some very leet brakes, and my car is not a everyday car its going to be used for track purposes.
I want to get slotted rotors something similar to this DBA rotors (http://www.vpw.com.au/productgroup.asp?CatID=3&SubCatID=977&priorCatID=977&PrdGrpID=971) or these wilwood rotors (http://www.vpw.com.au/productgroup.asp?CatID=3&SubCatID=977&priorCatID=977&PrdGrpID=3555)
Now I would need some calipers I was thinking 4 spot similar to these wilwood ones wilwood calipers (http://www.vpw.com.au/productgroup.asp?CatID=3&SubCatID=977&priorCatID=977&PrdGrpID=66)
I am not a brake expert (still a newb) so would I be able to fit these on a sprinter ? anyone who uses wilwood products what parts did you use ? any ideas or suggestions ?

Why wouldn’t you be able to use wilwood? The real question is how deep is your wallet?

You can either go the whole willwood kit for around 2K, or there is a place called Hoppers Stoppers in VIC?? They do a kit for around $1200. I'm considering this. www.hoppers.com.au

really depends on how much effort you wanna put into it, and how much coin u got!
I'm building a fairly serious brake set up (R32 4 Stud, 320mm, DBA gold drilled and slotted rotors matched with R32 GTR 4 pot calipers)
this should be a fairly good combo i h hope, its all being put on an S13 hub along with S13 coilovers. I've driven the same set up in an actually R32 and was impressed, now mine is 500kg's lighter, so I can't wait!

I read a tech article on how to do a brake upgrade using XT130 struts, peugeot 605 (?!?, not sure, having a punt at model number, but its in the article) rotors and Hilux 4 spots. rotors need to be machined down but it all bolts together nicley. have a look around toymods.

you cant go wrong with using the same brakes that came with the engine. ie using the CA18DET brakes from a s13, or go one better and use the SR20DET brakes/hubs (check tech section as mentioned b4)
the rx7 brake upgrade are used in japan but never really looked at what kind of power they had...

use s13 sus.
r32 brakes will bolt up then, with disc re drill. or you go 5 stud conversion and use the 5 stud discs. plenty good for you

the place only does holdens I think thats what i saw. As for $$ i am budgeting around 1-2gs on brakes I just need to know how hard is it to fit etc.

i sent them a email and most of their stuff will need work to get fitted on, otherwise the cheapest upgrade would be the S13 CA18DET conversion.

The hopper stoppers website doesn't list specifically for the AE86, but they do make a kit (it lists for RA23, RA40, etc.). It uses a Commodore VT-VZ caliper (2 Piston PBR Caliper) and about a 290mm disc. This is HEAPS of stopping power for an AE86. If it can haul a 1700Kg Commodore up, it's more than adequate for a 950Kg AE86.
The Most important part is IT ALL BOLTS UP. I can relate how much f**king around brake conversions can be, I put FC RX7 calipers on my AE86 and I certainly would not do it again - especially for the sake of $1200. The added bonus of using 2 spot calipers is that you can run any wheel as the caliper does not protrude above the wheel mounting face, which if you use 4 piston calipers, depending on the design can really limit the wheels available to you. I have this problem, I can really only run MX73 wheels or "non dished" rims due to my front brakes.

I have just done RX7 front brakes on my car, using the latest Mini Cooper S rotors and some custom brackets.
Things are still bedding in and I need to upgrade the master cylinder, but otherwise seems good.
Wheels clearance is a problem yes, my SSR wheels only fit with spacers, so I put on some longer studs and are trying other wheels that might fit.
All up it cost me about $670, but I made the brackets for free at work http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif
Will post up info shortly in the tech section.
cheers

I'm betting the XR-4s wont fit. Most SSR rims ive seen (with the exception of SP1s) have a fairly flat rear mounting face. That's the reason i sold off my set of Longchamps http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/sad.gif But i have much bigger brakes than the rx7 setup...

just wondering also .... if i did a pretty hard mountain run, and the brakes still dont feel 100% what would the problem be? (this was about 2 weeks ago)
