Hey guys,

My car has been having problems when i turn my key it doesnt always crank over and spark, it takes couple of goes to do it, it only does it after car been sitting for a bit.

Anyone know what it could be ?

so it wont crank? or it cranks but doesnt fire?

if it isnt cranking then i would be suggesting starter solenoid or dead battery

i have to turn key couple times then it cranks ova, note when im turning the key the car doesnt fire, it goes, der....der....der....spark-vroom kinda thing http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif

check your battery terminals are clean and tight

don't normally have any issues with the ignition barrel.. i'd bee looking at your starter if the battery is all good..

my starter used to require a few knocks with a steel pole/hammer after having my car sit for a while......... I think the solinoid sticks or something...... a few blows to the starter casing always did the trick though.....

Seems good again now, keeps playing up every couple months, prob reco it when i get ova in brissy

does it make a clitck when u tried to start it?

Also check ignition timing. too far advanced ignition timing will make it hard to crank over and start.
