Yes im a tight arse, but iv looked everywhere i can (all 54 pgs of tech articles http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/angry.gif
plus the infamous google) and all i want to know is if there is a cheapo way to lower
and stiffen the front end with springs from another car.
If falcon springs in the rear work out at 6KG surely there is something you can use
on the front?
Even 6Kg in the front would be a bit better than king low springs, if anyone knows
of anything please share.
Cheers
Dane.

not harder but same, springs have different weight rating... cutting it just lowers hieght and centre of gravity... thus making it lesser rockable...

i dont know how many times i have to say this,
shortening a spring by cutting it INCREASES THE SPRING RATE
if you think otherwise, prove it!

when you compress a spring, what youre actually trying to do is twist the bar. the longer it is, the easier it is to twist it X degree's.
so yes cutting a spring down (shortening it) makes it harder to compress.
that being said stock springs are SO soft theyre still soft when theyre cut.

http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/dry.gif i know all of this, otherwise id cut my stockos, duh...
im asking if there is a compatible spring from a heavier car that
can be cut to give a spring rate of somewhere between 6-8kg.
If not i will just buy some, just thought id see if there was a tight
arse way http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif
