hi all,

After breaking 2nd gear (jap t50) with the twincharged 4agze i'm upgrading to a hilux gearbox (same bellhousing pattern as W series).

I have an AZ adapter which after some extra machining bolts up,the problem now is the throwout bearing carrier falls off the slide of the gearbox after moving about 5mm(not enough travel to operate the clutch).

So my question is what bearing carrier are other people using or where do i go from here ???
after months of waiting for parts, machinists, spending $$$ etc i'm just about ready to bin this adapter but it seems near impossible to get a quality bellhousing in aus at all.
i'm in brissy by the way

any help much appreciated thanks Drew

Go to your friendly local Toyota wrecker and go for a dig. My memory is a bit hazy, but I seem to think SA63 throwout carriers were a bit shorter than GZ??. And they are the ony two I have inspected.

i'm yet to find anything that fits & sick of throwing money at it that i don't have to waste, for no result.
has anyone got a decent bellhousing or contact details of somebody who sells/makes one.

preferably in qld as this adapter came from tassie & is now hard to get any responce after spending money on something that was not the best quality & did not fit.

thanks drew

Hi

Sorry to take a little longer but could not find my receipts so had to go through my emails

I am running a Niteparts Bell HSG from NZ with the standard W Fork and Pivot AE101 ZE Clutch assy ( Larger One ) with a Throwout BRG assy Part Number GSB 427 ( i am told that GSB428 will also work but can't confirm that) . That part Number is the BRG and also the part that normally would be the support that the BRG is pushed onto.

Hope this is of help, if you want some pics send me your email and i will try and find some.
Also i just brought it the GSB 427 from Repco for about $40 -60 i think

Cheers Craig
