its a pretty manageable job, I think you should be able to find everything you need by doing a search for "4age conversion". I don't think many could help you with the conversion costs though seeing that most of us are from Australia.

Hey I am curious how common are ae85/ae86s over there?

haha in short half the noobs here have couldnt even pic that youre from the states.

in short yes, but you will need to find a donor car as youll need the gearox and tailshaft (drive shaft) aswell as the dash and body loom, rear loom (or just add one wire to yours for fuel pump) fuel tank ect.

as this in beginners section of club 4ag to get a better answer. this is an australian forum. we dont have sr5s here.

ok. youre wrong.

jap sr5s have a 3a (1.5 litre) and use a k50 gearbox (cable clutch) and as such a differant tailshaft.

i dont know about your source either. is the site u.s or european based?

as for headlights all usdm cars are us pop up head lights. and cars you see from there that have fixed lights have been converted.

I know theres a site with good SR5 conversion articles. It might be 4AGE.com (or whatever it is) or maybe you will have to spend 10 minutes or so with our good friend google searching...
