no the TRD ratios wont fit an s series diff, actually i dont think there will be any other ratios available to you.
you really need to get a T series then you can get any ratio you want,

there are many aftermarket options for the t series.. 3.7, 3.9, 4.1 are some ones you can get out of various cars that came with t series diffs, 4.3 usually JDM 86 diffs have these, 4.55, 4.77, and even some crazy 5.375 are available..

I ran a 5.125 for a while in my rally car. It was a 6.7" CW&P but I'm not sure if it would have fitted the AE-86 housing.
Drove nicely, though it was like I had five 1st gears. http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif
Did little chirpies into 3rd at times.

newbie question is there any way of telling what ratio you got in your diff? i got a jap zenki centre in mine now. and i used to have a locker t-series t-18 b4 and that felt so much quicker. or was that jsut because the locker help provide me with more traction?

if you pull the center out.. toyota diffs have the ratio stamped on them... if not.. count the number of teeth on the crownwheel, and on the pinion.. then divide the number on the crownwheel by the number on the pinion... eg 41 teeth on the c/w and 11 on the pinion.. = 3.7 ratio...
