does anyone know anything about acid dipping chassis'. i heard it removes all paint tar and even bog. so i think it'd be a wikkid idea because im a perfectionist and i really wanna get the paint right and get rid of all that excess tar from the floor that someone just painted over. so any information at all would be great and if anyone could give me an approximate price for this proceedure and places in brisbane that do it that'd rule too. thanx all

i thought it is to remove rust? and you still have to strip the car before it goes in?

Jut call a few body shops, ask if they do it, and ask the procedure?

Been there done that..
All I can say is DONT do it, The problem is that one the paint is stripped no one can re coat the chassis properly with rust protection stuff in the hard to get at places. so the car rusts from the inside out.

just get it media-blasted. Either bead, sand, soda can be very effective. Then they should etch-prime it for you, and you can get started on the rust repairs. Probably looking at around a grand, ball park, but you are best to strip the car down (parts) as much as possible to save dosh.
