The obvious questions:
Has any wiring or anything come loose?
Or is it set to turn on when the motor heats up so it doesnt turn on when you first start it up?

yeah i'd go with that earth, fans just dont break man.....all they do is spin around http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif
although, how is it hooked up? through the lil temperature sender thing? although im pretty sure that its designed so that they stay on all the time if the sender is stuffed....
yeah more info needed

earth was fine... (on battery earth)
it was hooked up to a norm open relay with the temp sender and manual (un ground) swith
The fan was an 11 amp fan and i fused it with a 15amp... could it be that a few more amps could blow the fan but not blow the fusampse if it wasn't more than 15?
hmmm... no come to think of it i was using 10amp wire......
Ive got a replacement fan but have yet to put it in...
