Hey guys wanna get some power out of a 4k.

What will a rebuild cost me in parts roughly?

Also what type of mods to get a bit of power out of one?

Carbs?

Cheers fellas

Basically, any carby you find will be bigger than the stock 4K one and an upgrade. As a very cheap starting point, a Corona 18R carby fits.

3K motors used to be used in Formula race cars, so look into that. Twin sidedrafts.

i beleive by putting a 3k head on can be an improvment. i think it bumps up the compression.

but what i would look for is an old liteace or townace(i think) these sometimes have a 5k engine. :P

yea if your going to rebuild and modify a k series engine then either go 5k or 7k, depends on your budget mainly

5k, shave head, new cam, carby(s), extractors and exhaust. Should be enough for a fun K series. Though, the cost of doing that and getting it tuned, would nearly be easier to just go 4age.

Not a good idea. Try a 3T.

I have a mild cam, 5K carb, shaved head, stiffer valve springs and possible light porting on my 4K.

Goes decent for a little 1.3L, I quite like it.

I haven't seen this done.

This i have seen done. From memory, it was TA22 mount brackets, hybrid TA22/KE70 rubber mounts on a KE crossmember. Not too hard.

EDIT -

AE86R - if you are just suggesting the 18rc from a corona because you have one available - if it's from an RT132 / RT133 - I want the mounts.
