yeah front passenger only mate. has to be padded around any area of the cage that can be contacted by the head (may actually be any body part)

before anyone says

"if the backs padded, why can't people sit in the back?"

you just can't. rules is rules Jacko. anyway there is like no room in the back when you have a cage anyway...

i think the best part about it would be less chance of dieing...unless you mean about the handling/stiffness, in that case i have no idea http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/laugh.gif

What about if you had a 4 door, could you have a cage and passengers in the back or is it just a flat no?

computer says no, "cough!!!!"

little britain reference, sorry....

cages normally block off a fair portion of the doorway in a 4 door anyway, so it would be hard to get in and out of in cas of an accident, which is i'm sure another reason why they don't want passengers in back with a cage

your cage doesn't have the arms from the hoop down to the wheel arches though. it's those 2 bars plus the usual cross bar that cause the legality issue http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/wink.gif

so does this mean u CAN have a small cage in the back and get it engineered?

Ahh. Both my door bars + taxi bar are removable. The taxi bar is left in premanently though.
SON57A - No, any bars going backwards from the main hoop make it a 2 seater.

mod plate as 2 seater then u dont even have to worry about passengers being back seat drivers while ur trying to concentrate during a slide

get a daily that is legal and has seats etc and comfort then have ur 86 as ur weekend/slide car[/b]

yeh i would love to do that but my hatchi is gonna be my only car because i cant afford two http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/sad.gif
