Never heard of a supercharged 20v.
Hear it can be done with alot of work though. and will cost you more then a turbo setup.

mainly cos of the quads.. it might be a bit of a C%&$... once you can sort that out..
the GZE runs a completley different setup.. it has the TB befor the SC..

Tim harris (kiwi tim) did it to his ST 20v, made roughly 150rwkw.
Should mention it was an sc12

It'll work fine. The issues I see are:
- Mounting and plumbing the SC so it clears the quads and is secure. You could consider running it low on the exhaust side.
- Need a good blow off valve and a bit of thought in the setup since TBs are after SC.
- Need a custom airbox over quads
- Gearing for SC. With the high redline of the 20V, you'd probably need to keep the gearing a little lower than usual so you don't overspeed the SC.
Nothing insurmountable, however a bit of a pain.

although my memory is a bit rusty on this one I think they can handle 12,000rpm, so if you keep your standard 4agze pulley or 20V pulley it should be fine.

cheers 4 the replies guys i have been looking at my 20v and i will prob move the alternator to the other side so coppaz dont see the charger as im restricted (nsw) i dont think the quads will be a problem as i will just get an plenum made up wih a removable lid so i can bolt it to the quads,
if i made the lid so it bolts on with all bolts around 2-3 cm apart with a gasket, would it leak boost?
if there is anything else i should know before attemting to run this setup if someone could tell me it would be a great help...cheers guys

yeah I just want to say you should always have some form of trumpet in your box, even if they are only 1cm long and are welded inside. Also I dont know if you can get away with such high boost into a 20V engine with its compression ratio. Your best bet might be with a standard 20V front pulley (not 4agze), a decent intercooler and some 98 octane fuel. I havent any experience with that sort of thing but that may work, otherwise you will need a smaller pulley on your crank.

because regardless whether or not you have air being sucked in or blown in if there is just a open hole for the inlet then significant turbulence will happen. The air will create vortices as it goes in the pipe which would significantly reduce flow. That's why when they flow test a head they put a plasticine lump around the inlet. You don't need much, just a bell or cone shape on each one or something like that

with boosted plenems etc i have desined.. i use a 'sunken' trumpet.. or in most cases with things like my mates 3SGTE.. band saw the stock plenem off.. weld a new bottom onto the runners, then port the ally runners to give a nice smooth transition into the runner, open it right up.. then weld the top half of the plenem on.. same thing for an air box..
a raised trumpet in a boosted system can have negative effects.. but not really that noticeable.. these are from my experiences at least http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif

sounds really good matty, I have heard good things about a sunken trumpet design. I was thinking of something along the lines of a bellmouth that curles right round, sorta like a lip around the hole more than anything els. man its too hard to explain

lol, i know what you mean!! like a bead, not so the 'ramp' protrudes into the volume..
it's handy when one of your best mates is a metal spinner.. so trumpets any shape/ size are not a problem!!..
the 3SGTE is actually the plenam i was talking about is in his car..
an example of his trumpets.. (he did the purple ones on RB20DET_silvia's, Luke just had them mounted to plates, and anodized)
and the plenam lots of porting on the runners for the larger volume gets some really good transitions.. without going into detail too much.. 300fwhp @ 1 bar http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif very very quick...

so u think like cut the bellmouths off the trumpets and weld em into a plenum

yeh but only so the bead (rolled edge) sticks up into the plenem, like the rest 9/10ths of the trumpet would be hainging out the bottom, and would be classed kinda as the tapered runner section.. make sense??

yeah so you could only use a bellmouth that has a full 180 degree curl in it so it doesnt stick up, and I just happen to know where to get them for $2 each, heheheeh
