Was down at toyota today attempting to purchase some fly wheel bolts.
Turns out the 4AC flywheel bolts are different to the 4AGE
Yet the only difference i can think of is ones 6 bolt ones 8 bolt.

but I thought the bolts would be interchangable.
But accordign to their computers it is some how different and price is almost doubble on 4AGE

Anyone know what the difference is?
Length? strength? thread?

Uhh?

I think you might have missed the question I was asking.

which is:
Is there any difference between the flywheel bolts that fit a 4ac fly wheel compared to the bolts for a 4age flywheel

because on the toyota database the bolts have 2 diff part numbers and 2 diff prices

Yes they are totally different.

The head on the 4AC bolt is 17mm if I remeber correctly and the 4AGE ones are 14mm. The heads are too large for the bolt spacing when there is 8 instead of 6 and they foul each other.

FWIW I didn't bother with the toyota bolts when I put my lightened flywheel on - for $45 ARP flywheel bolts were cheap enough to warrant installing.
