Hey all,
Just hoping to get some unique footage for the next cruise.
If another thread exists for this then point me in the right direction and delete the post but I am wanting to get some in car footage and also footage from behind the passenger front wheel for the next cruise.
What are people using to get this type of footage?

I have access to small cameras, a notebook computer, usb capture device and an inverter so I am thinking of running that type of setup but am I missing something simpler ?
Are their mounts that you can purchased that are maybe suction cap based. What do they use on rally cars ? (I know this is probably big budget stuff)
Is there a long range wireless solution available ?
There must be something commercially available, anybody able to point me in the right direction ?
Whenever I strap the old sonycam to anything in the car the footage is pretty crappy.

i saw a pretty cool suction cap based one at the last QR track day. was bought of ebay for $90 from memory and was very sturdy. have seen similar mounts used outside the car to great success (don't fall off)

On the high octane DvD's they just used 60mph tape (duck tape) to hold down there camera's to the bonnets and front quarter panels so that might be a cheaper option for some people ie me.

http://www.chasecam.com/ ..have some good stuff

I use a digital hand held camera mounted in the back of my car to capture incar footage, but I would love one of those lipstick cams to get some other angles around the car.

get somethign like that, and stick it on your door, only problem is if your doin mountian runs you migth take it out on a tree branch or one of those reflector things (ask bahnugget about the effect of reflector poles on car mirrors http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif )

Yeah, the suction caps work really well. We always take one out with us when we go street drifting and we alternate betweens cars. Works a treat! We've got some really good footage. Also works really well on the track http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif

i used a couple of these:

420tv lines is ok quality, but the 580tv lines ones are approx $150 to $200. for $60 you don't get too stressed if you bash one off http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/biggrin.gif

the video is being recorded on my sony hard drive camcorder sitting in a pillow in my glove box. don't necessarily need this kind of camcorder, just one that will record video/audio input. still working out how to do a pre-amp'd microphone.
