W57/58 Help

Got a W57 in my 86 but i don't know which speedo cable to use? The threaded end which goes into the side of the box is much smaller than the box fitting. Are there adaptors available?

You need a W57/58 (maybe W55 too, but definitely not W50) speedo drive.

The hole in the box is about 2" in diameter, while the T50 drive is about 1" in diameter. If you get the correct drive then your stock T50 cable will screw straight onto it and everything will be fine and rosy.

However I think these speedo drives are somewhat hard to find.

the wreckers.. or call toyota..

W55/56/57/58/59 are all the same g/box.. just different ratio's.. W56 and 59 are hilux/commercial boxes though so might have different speedo configurations..

You also need to be careful that the internal gears match... there are a few different ones. More info here:
