I have a ae86 sprinter and am looking at putting a twincam into it.
Would a 4-age 16V twincam from a ae82 be fine ? was the ae82 a fwd car standard? If so would i need to change much on the motor before it went in? Also it come with a loom, would i need to modify that ?

Just another question after reading that forum, could I use a RWD intake manifold to save cutting and welding the fwd one?

Yeah amte, AE82 motor is fine... That tutorial tells you everything,
But yes youc an sue a RWD (JDM AE86) intake manifold if you don't wanna cut and weld the FWD one, but for some reason, JDM ones are fetching huge prices.... Cheaper to cut an weld the one you have http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif

i have just finished my conversion ...
1. 4age 16v from an ae82 will fit FINE!
2. If you get a complete ae82 loom and computer it will work out fine. with my ae82 loom i only used what i needed to run the engine the rest of it was cut off. For my starter motor and altnator i used my 4ac loom for that. From memory the only wires i exteneded were: Altnator, Watertemp, TVIS wire thats all i can think of at the moment. This was not hard to cut and extend just make sure u solder it all up.
3. INtake manifold buy it off BLUE4AGE good price good bloke to deal with
4. Exhaust manifold/extractors find off the forums,
5. You will need a spigot bearing this is very cheap and very easy to put in
any more questions pm me and i will try my best to help out. IF your in sydney it will be easier i can come down and have a geez
cheers
