hi guys, i ended up deciding to install that mild 4ag i had for sale a while ago as needed a good engine for my drift pig. put her on the dyno last week made (117rwhp on matty at pits dyno)so around 130rwhp on any one elses. this was with limit set to 8k as well. that was with her running power fc std big port rwd manifold and cams quickly dialed in. i beleive this is pretty healthy for the mods done.
car has:
rsr extractors
std big port rwd manifold with adapter plate
std big port injectors
288 272 hks cams
small port ae92 head been fully rebuilt and mild port and cc'd
blocks been decked
ae111 crank
ae111 rods
ae92 late model high comp pistons
been fully balanced and rebuilt 1,000k's ago.

matty at pits reackons with quad throttles and cams dialled in properly could get 12rwhp more or so.
what do most others run on dyno??? is this healthy or shit? any tecknical imput would be appreciated.
thanks
Mark

G'day...

That output seems pretty healthy - should be around 180 hp at the flywheel...?

How much lift on those cams?

What compression are you running?

How was the Power fc to tune? how long did it take to tune?

How much was left in the injectors (ie what duty cycle were they at at max output?)

I have one to install on a bigport with quads and cams...

Regards

Scott Brown

PS sorry for the list of questions

thanks for your posts ok cool as didn't really know what a stocker 4ag runs at the wheels. 130rwhp ends up being around 165ps at the fly. would a true 180ps with quads and cams dialled in. could make more power really if i up the revs to 9,000rpm i would imagine but as this car see's alot of revs from drifting this may not be advised.
the cams are onyl 8.5mm of lift. it's running ae92 late model high comp std pistons but has been decked and shaved and trd head gasket so would say around 10.5:1 or so maybe alittle more.
the guy i use for tuning is very good with power fc's so wa spiece of cake for him. just did a quick remap about 2 hours. as for injector duty honestly don't know as no hand controller but he would of looked at that if there was a problem he would of told me so would think was still abit left in her. ok cool yeah pretty good computer apperantly can runs all of the above:
turbo
quads
even 20v with modifed loom!
as the power fc for the ae86 is a modified item specially built from ap engerneering in japan they modify a power fc from a sw20 mr2. good thing about having ap engerneering doing it is that it maps all the way upto 15,000rpm hehehe so nice on a n2 engine lol
thanks

That's pretty bloody good Mark http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif
My stroker engine had smaller cams and bigport head, dodgy computer and made 125rwhp, so you should be hapy with 130 given the intake setup on it http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif

Stocko bigport 4age will pump out about 93hp atw or 69-70rwkw. Well that what mine has. Smallport maybe another 3-5rwkw.

Sounds pretty strong to me.

What else has it got? Pics please!

"170 ps only" with 4 throttle.

i dont know about the 15hp youre giving yourself there cos youre on a dyno that reads low. 115 is typical for a stock 20v (ST or BT not a huge differance stock) on aftermarket managment. realistically i would say they dont break 160 crank hp.

with the quads sounds like more of a 170hp region engine.

get josh to take it for a spin he's a little more experianced than most he could prolly give you a worthy oppinion.
