Hey fellas,

I have just put a ra60 rear into my ae71 and also got a t18 tailshaft thinking it would bolt up. It wont and i now find that i need an ae86 front half. My question is, is there any other option apart from ae86? They seem to be very hard to find, so are there an options?

Any info would be most appreciatted!

Thanks alot, Julzy.

AE86 front half is your only option.

other series Toyotas used a t50 box (t18, Ta22) however their output splines are different to that of an 86

from memory its

AE86/AE71 T50 22 splines

all other T50's 20 splines

I agree with Gilly above. However as he says at the end of his post, I think the front half of an AE71 tailshaft will also suit. Sure, they are probably going to be just as hard to find, but it's another option.

Incidentally, what did you need to change to get the RA60 diff to fit?

AE71 tailshaft can't be unbolted in the centre like an AE86 one can.

So I guess my only option is a ae86 shaft, Hen to fit it as is (with drums) it will bolt in. I fitted st141 rear disks so i needed to move the shcoker mount slightly. You need to make sure though you get a ra60 rear with swaybar mounts.
