u can slap in some hilux or even sierra shocks, also just use falcon au springs but cut them down. done

just the hilux shox doesnt count as "hilux rear suspension".
sierra are better anyway, and im pretty sure they come off the front. combined with falcon springs its a very cheap option.

yep buy pedders front suzuki sierra early model front shocks off the leaf spring version and use one single ford falcon au rear spring cut in half or to the height u want

im just using this as a cheap option until i get some money for better stuff..............
do the shocks, whether they're from the front or back of the hilux or sierra, bolt straight in, or is there some modification needed?

kind of on the same topic, when removing springs do they need compressing with a spring compressor or will they be easily removable.................
so my question is basically, how do ya remove the springs? http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif
cheers guys http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/2thumbs.gif

you just unbolt the lower mount of the shock and the diff should drop enough for you to remove them.

if you have to ask how to do rear springs
take it to a mechanic

i wouldnt trust a dodgy ass geeza of a mechanic to work on your hachi... offer someone near you on this site a case of beer or something to give you hand...
or maybe you should sell your hachi and get something of less value to learn with.

hilux shocks would be a good option.. but they are quite large in diameter compared to the stock shock, and won't fit up inside the recess in the floorpan for the shock pin.
some rear ones out of a VS commo wagon are short enough to keep some TRD springs captive, and are a stright bolt in affair, where as the seirra shocks are crazy town sort!! and the commo wagon shocks are a bit heavier in the valving as they are designed for towing..

I'm fairly certain is VB commo wagon Matty http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/wink.gif Well, I've used VB commo ones and they are stiff and work well http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif Shorter than stock, but not as short as Sierra shocks.
Straight bolt in, take you 10mins (or less) per side http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif
