Hey, I'm putting a whole lot of suspension in my car this sunday and I'll be converting to corona lower control arms. I am trying to remember what options I have for tie rods as I've read alot of different stuff about this in the past. Cause of the amount of different stuff I've read and a bad memory I was wondering if someone could clear up some things for me.
Will standard sprinter tie rods suffice with corona arms? I think I remember they will but you definetly need ra40 items for sigma arms.
Secondly is there another option other than ra40 tie rods from another celica or comonly found toyota at the wreckers? I think I remember hearing/reading that the ra60 had the same type but this could be me remembering wrong or info on the net being.... info on the net http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/crazy.gif
If anyone could help me with these two questions I'd appreciate it alot.

dont use corona, use sigma they are better quality and stronger construction, ive seen corona arms bend under force, use ra40 tie rod ends which should be bought new from repco and also ra40 rack ends

I already have corona arms and sigma arms are just too long for what I want. Ideally I'll be getting ra40 tie rods but I'm asking about the alternatives incase I have any trouble getting my hands on some. Thanks though http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif

if u have any worries about the corona lca's just box 'em in, as in weld or get some 1 to weld in a plate on the underside of the lca

^^^^ i guess you could use the simgas .. but then you would need to wind them out with camber tops, but that defeats the purpose of the camber tops in the first place... also for daily driving the track on your front would look bad......
^^ either way done forget to get those guards flared or raise the hieght up http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif
^^With ra40's, yes dont forget the rack ends..( i almost did when raiding an ra40 at uPull it.). well that and give them a good clean before you put them onto your rack.. otherwise you might mess up the thead on your rack. and the ball joints can get from sprints or repco for under $30.00.

Just remeber when you crash control arms are desinged to take most of hte impact cause the them to bend rather then bending your chassise mounts.... i would only recommend using thin steel to box them up and cut holes in the steel to allow some sort of flex

mate WTF
corona are identical construction to factory arms, which are fine
the sigmas are not 'better quality'
they dont fit properly and are far too long
bend under force? as in when you hit a gutter? they are supposed to lol
ra40s dont run steering rack
apart from that, all good!
