You can use Tercel for the rear at 17mm but not the front's there totally different, good luck

pretty sure tercel is it. no other suitable shped items around
JDM ones are like 1-2mm bigger, but you won't find any at a local wreckers http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif
for a budget upgrade you can weld or hose clamp 2 stock sways together, i've seen it used with some success. big upgrade though, never driven a car with this arrangement but basic theory makes me think it would have a fairly noticable/dramatic effect.
i think a more conventional aftermarket sway would be a better option IMO, normally the 17 - 20mm range, i know whiteline has a 18mm non adjustable which would be cheapish

yeah its the tercel, but its not a straight swap tho, some work involved

My AE71 wagon has a 23mm sway bar (standard factory fit as far as I can tell) not sure if this fits an AE86?

i have two standard swaybars clamped together in the rear of my ae71, great upgrade.
but yes can put the tercel swaybar in the rear of the sprinter with some mods, same as celica (ra60?) can go in the front with some mods.

what sort of mods are we looking at to successfully install a tercel or celica sway bar?

Have the handling characteristics improved much?
What did you use to clamp?

hard to give a REAL guide as i put chopped falcon springs in the rear at the same time, but i feel the bar made quite a difference and it only cost me $4 as i had the stock swaybar already.
i used two exhaust style clamps that i got from super cheap for $2 each.

from what I understand from people who race sprinters (and actually win!) they all say the standard sizing is best, upgrade your springs
did you know this

used an 18mm rear whiteline swaybar on mine and i think it was one of the best thing i ever did! helped the understeering from the excessive fully sick camber on the front!

maybe stock bar sizing is good if you have superbly setup suspension, but for 95% of people who use their car on the street they will feel great benefits from upgraded swaybars.
having said this bill sherwood doesnt use a front one at all.

evosti got any pics of this doubled up sway bar? how excatly do you mount the sway bar bushing? or more to the point how do you connect it to the end links? what just u calmp it all round and run no bushings ?
i heard a lot about doubling over sway bars i believe it's an oldskool trick befor aftermarket bars were so available

the cars at a mates place so no pics.
youre not thinking bodgy enough, dont worry about bushes and links... you just leave the one you already got in the car in place, and just clamp the second one to it.
ive seen people make extra brackets to fit a second swaybar but seems like alot of effort to me for something thats essentially dodgy.

I mean both, and I believe it. I dont think it needs a suberb suspenson to take advantage of it. I run 4.9kg springs at the front (275 pound) and it has very little lean while not being very bumpy.

I find with decent spring rates no rear sway bar at all FTW.
If you want oversteer then thats cool.. But for grip get some good spring rates and shocks and remove the rear bar.

I might try that, I have a little too much oversteer right now

fitted front sway bar to the 86 today, havent had a chance to go throught the hills yet to see how it goes...prob not too noticable as its only a small size increase but still $16.50 http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/biggrin.gif
