im just about to do a engine conversion. the standard 4-AC engine to a AE101 supercharged engine. and ive read in a few places about what u need and how to do it. and in only one of the articles say that you need a jdm bell housing because of the starter motor being on the wrong side for the adm bell housing. and i was wondering is this true and if it is, is there any way of mounting it on the engine without changing bell housings (with out it being to difficult) or do i need to change the bell housing

The bellhousing from a 4A-GEU speced AE86 is nice to have, only because the clutch slave is on the other side away from the exhuast.

Otherwise your current bellhousing and startermotor will work fine. Make a heat shield for the starter if you really want it.

A ADM bellhousing works fine with the starter being on the exhaust side.
