Anybody know where i can get a set of oversize forgies from for my GZE. Most are around the $1000 mark but i can't afford that being a first year.

If you know of anyone selling a secondhand set i'd buy them.

Cheers Brendon

Depends how worn out / bored out your block is.

You DO know the block has to be bored out to fit oversize pistons.....?

OEM is available in 1/2mm oversize if that'll do... should cost about $7-800 Aussie. You can also get low compression (early) 4AGZE 8.0 to one, or you can get (later) 8.9 to 1 slugs......

The bores are fucked and at some stage there has been water in the bores.(must have been when it was in Japan) http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/angry.gif

If price is an issue, I think it'd be hard to go past factory pistons. AFAIK they can be had in 0.5 and maybe 1mm over in both 8.0 and 8.9 CR. Factory forged and ceramic coated, though exactly how they are made and what has been done to them is open to discussion.

From what I hear, Castle Hill Toyota are good for this sort of stuff. And about $500 for a set of pistons and rings. But a few phone calls will give you the real figures.
