are you posessed????

what are you building the car for....??
thats a pretty crazy conversion... more trouble than its worth in my eyes u
are better off with an sr and spend the extra money u save from making custom shit and spent it on the sr...

its a lighter motor
no cutting of firewall
plenty of power

im a purist and my opinion is dont wreck a hachi by doing a nissan conversion

i dont want to start an arguement over all that shit with nissan and toyota either i am simply stating my opinion

I agree with drift pig, the rb would make it a shit of a car to drive, too far foward weight balance plus a huge amount of work to fit it.

Spillman, what you're suggesting is basically entirely custom, so the answer to all your questions above is custom.

Custom engine mounts
Custom gearbox crossmember
Custom tailshaft

Not particularly hard. But I also think that you'll end up with either a chopped firewall or a very front heavy car.

yeah thats pretty radical man..

i wouldnt advise it. the best thing about the sprinter is that its uber light and really well balanced. why spoil that by putting a giant engine in one end?

there was some hachi getting around with an RB25 in it, green one i think, i sure went fast in a straight line alright, but didnt like the corners much. (from what i saw of it on the track)

if you must go nissan, go SR as has been stated. relatively light, and plent of juice to get the sprinter going fast.

also what are you building the car for? drag/drift/track?

RB20 would be awesome for drag but not much else:P

in my opinion anyway

if i wer you id do what im doing get a and use the rb20 box with the sr20 and your shifter will sit in the original hole and youl have a stronger and i think lighter box.

or you could go sr20de 14 onwards then add a turbo saves you money but you dont get oil squirters in the block but alot of people are running around with out them and with the extra lift from the na cams of the de you should have a winnah! or i hope so

also if anyone has pics of sr20det swaps into there ae86 id love to see them especialy the engine mounts as i have ideas about how to mount the engine but id like to hear/see what others have done

wouldnt be much different from a 1ggte conversion I guess.

Still would unsettle the car.

Id go for a 4agte or a 3sgte.

Not really keen on the Nissan idea but I think the SR would be best

fo someone that has obvously gone to a bit of hassle to buy an engine and what not u seem to have been swayed towards sr/4a pretty easily. maybe u should think through any other engine conversion a bit longer rather than offering engine swaps to other people as soon as some one says its a bad idea. personally i'd go sr. for a reliable ae86 wit an sr u should look at around 10g's include engine fmic ecu. u can do it cheaper but thats cuttin alot of corners. just research it some more. my 2c
