hey guys, just a quick question,
do 15x8 rims fit under standard front guards or do u have to modify them, ie: roll lip
PS: i have camber tops maxed out if that helps
cheers
John

ooo dunno, i was just wondering thats all, i dont actually have the rims. ummm what would be a common off set if there is such a thing.

if the offset is anything +4 or higher they will fit for sure no worries...
if the offset is +4 or less.. you will need to do a lil guard work.
anything with negative offset you will need some flaring/flares done.

yea, cause i have 6.5 or 7's now and they seem to have heaps of room, couldnt i just lip the front and change the bolts? or would it be more beneficial to get spacers?

also depends on your tyre size

what do you mean by change the bolts? as in the studs?
that wont do anything...
spacers will work.. slip on ones i wouldnt go any higher than a 5mm..
bolt on you can get anything...
what wheels you have now? the pic in your avatar?
hmm they look like supra rims.. with the p00 offset..
maybe get some 20mm bolt on and roll your guards..

..careful! If you go too high you will be fouling on the strut! http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/sad.gif

yeah lose the plastics and fold the tabs up that held the plastic in place. frees up a fair bit of room

Bash ya guards~! Don't be weak!

I run 15x8's with a 0 offset on the front with an S13 brake setup and longer control arms...thus even with 30mm wider guards my wheels scrape like sh1t.

Gilly, since you're the master of the universe, how would you overcome crap (eg, dirt, mud, leaves, cats you run over, etc), getting into the guards, especially the places the plastic protects. Fill it with expandable foam and fibreglass over the top?

i run 15*8 neg 9 offset with 195 tyres easy under standard guards with camber tops just put the inner guard on top of the guard edge and move the clips around a bit and fit button head screws and cut the small ridge out of the inner guard on the front outer edge.
if u take your inner guards out, the door hinges fill up with dirt and wear out

thanx man, but what do u mean by "just put the inner guard on top of the guard edge "
