Easiest way is to cut each wire (or simply slice a portion of the insulation) and ground the wires!

The 12V ignition will arc with only the ignition on.
The 12V Battery will arc all the time (with ignition off).
The Earth/Ground will not arc!

Simple.

from memory its like this:

ground: always black
acces: yellow
constant: red

Joels way would work but dont do trial and error on a headunit!

Good work http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I got mine done by Strathfield next door to where I work. Professionally done, with new parcel tray! Cost me nothing, and I didn't need to do it myself http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/2thumbs.gif

must be a blown fuse. forget what colours but if you look at the front of the plug with the clip at the top. constant 12v is far right on the top row, 12v ignition is next to it on the top row. earth is bottom row in the middle, i think white with black tracer. and speakers are far, left top and bottom are front right and next to them, top and bottom are front left.
