Just wondering.

Name your instrument, style, band, influences, etc.

I play bass,

Main style is Dance - Indie, but i have hearts for jazz bass.

Playing in a band called Fire! Santa Rosa, Fire! It's all dancey-indie-disco stuff. Played 3 shows already this week, including one with Midnight Juggernauts and have one tomorrow night. Touring melbourne + sydney in late august i think.

Kgo.

Drums

self taught so yeah no style, picked it up in primary school in music class, wasn't allowed a kit, after school in high school i'd playaround on a mates kit. recentyl purchased an electric kit (gay) it's actually not that bad, sounds realistic enough, can't have an acoustic kit (for obvious noise related reasons)

play mainly basic rock stuff not to music or anything just muck around really, ideally would love to get a grasp on Jazz and punk but coordination just isn't there yet http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/laugh.gif

this thread is so trippy, not even an hour ago i snapped my first stick http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif

i play the guitar, and abit of bass depending on what i desire at the time, self taught the basics, and learn songs off of other people or get the tabs, and i play the air drums, on the train, while im walking, anywhere i go i have an invisible drum kit wiht me and rock that shit. i dont have a real drum kit due to my house being the same size as the boot of my KE, but one day........

EDIT: forgot style, i like anything with hardcore guitar riffs, and/or lots of hammer ons and pull offs, coz i like the syncopation of that kind of stuff

Hahaha, amen to that shit.

I don't own a real drum kit due to lack of funds and massive un-coordination issues http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif

Electric guitar.
5 years, self-taught, 0 lessons.
Mainly play metal and prog. Dream Theater, Nevermore, Evergrey etc. etc.
Still have never bought a guitar...Taxed my in-laws old guitar for most of the 5 years, and recently made a 7-string to take its spot as I felt guilty for having it for so long :greenbounce:

I play the drums, been playing for about 7 years. Played in a rock/punk/pop band for 3 years during high school. We played heaps of gigs round Newcastle and Central Coast areas.

Band split up after school and went our separate ways. I actually left the band before then tho, as the bands punk-ish direction didn't really suit the style of drumming I loved to play.

My kit is a black Sonor Force 2001 with Zildjian cymbals. The drummers who have influenced my style include Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Danny Carey (Tool), Brad Wilk (Rage Against The Machine), Jose Pasillas (Incubus) and Jimmy Chamberlin (Smashin Pumpkins).

Havent been in a band for about 4 years due to work, study, gf and car committments but would LOVE to get back in to it! My best mate plays bass, so we would both like to get back into a band and start jamming again. :)

Great to see there's some other muso's on here!
