i bought an autotecnica boss kit for my nardi classic today and i tried it on before i get my spacer and it fits BUT its like the steering pin is too short http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/huh.gif

it fits but i have to push it on hard and when i do it rubs on the steering column behind the wheel (may be a bit hard to understand) so heres a pic:

I know what you mean. I got one once, but because I have a lathe and stuff I was able to modify it to clear.

You could buy another boss kit of a different brand, or a different part number. Got to the shop and get a different one to suit Toyota. Hopefully you can take back the one you don't use.

that pic is shithouse, but luckily i remembered how i did mne, im sure you did the same.

the whole in the steering column plastic is too small for the boss to fit inside, i dremeled mine out about 5mm bigger then it fit great, could have been a little bit neater but it was fine (i traced aroud the boss wit hsomething sharp and used that as a guide)

a mate did his with a soldering iron, melted it away.

cutting it down with a lathe is an interesting way to do it, i guess to a guy with a lathe, everything looks like it needs turning down!

i did none of the above cos mine bolted in and worked strightaway.

i got the ae82 bosskit with a dished wheel (cos its 10mm to short)

Whats the part number?

It should be XXXLLL or LL

There is a special one for the AE86 as it has to be longer to clear the indicator stalk.

its the ae82 bosskit, its shorter than the ae86 otherwise fits prefect... only cost $40 too

with a flat steering wheel it wll be to close to the indicator stalk as above...

solve all ur problems ring autobarn and make them order u an extra long SAAS kit for an ae86....done no problems with fitting or clearing stalks. i have it fitted atm to a flat nardi classic, no dramas, and it also fits the momo race wheel.
