hey, ill be selling my current car shortly and buying a aus sprinter http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tup.gif
I also have a blown RA60 and was wondering what things i should keep / would be good for an AE86 because i want to get rid of it soon.
I was thinking, brakes / strut? diff? gearbox? anything else?
Would it be costly to fit T series RA60 diff into an AE86? i beleive the diff mounts need to be chopped off and welded back on.. could this be done at home? as i have a welder and dads pretty handy with it...
and last, would the strut and brakes fit on easyly? im guessing the strut would need to be cut down to fit?
Cheers http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif

You have to reposition the mounts and spring seats if you want to put an RA60 T-series into an xE7/8x.
If you make the struts into coilovers then you can use them. The RA60 struts are longer from memory, and as such put out the suspension geometry, and give a bit of positive camber (if you were running neutral before)
Somebody please correct me if im wrong, i = drunkasaurus rex

ahh fair enough, cheers javal
would it be worth repositioning the mounts and spring seats, or just easyer to sell it and buy a t-18 t series diff?
also, would the strut change over be worth it? would the brake disks and calipers be a big improvment over stock ADM ones?
thanks alot http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif

benny sell all of the ra60 stuff, keep the gearbox and the diff centre.. and sell the rest. maybe hang onto the tailshaft centre bearing for me. i'll come and have a look at it if you get it out for me.
or just sell it to ben to add to the collection of shitty celicas in his backyard

The RA60/RA65 would make a great race car I would have thought. Almost every Toyota engine was put in that chassis, so everything available if you want to bolt a engine in, your choice. Why does everyone thow them away?

Well im ditching mine because i dont like how RA's handle, feels to big n boaty to me... much prefer a smaller lighter car without power steering, as most do http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif
