hey guys,

i was wondering if anyone can help me out with the Bolt Torque settings for the 4agze, ive done a search thru the site, plus hours on goole and most things tend to be reffering to Toymods, i dont have an account there.

so basically does anyone have a link for a PDF or just knowns the Bolt Toruqe specs, head, rods etc.
i saw for the last person who asked this you all said to just go and read the manuals at supercheap or autobahn, but i thought i'd try this first.

thanks for any help guys.

i searched for this for AGES when i was doing my engine. hang on and let me see if i can find em again!

ok, these are the specs for a 4age bigport. my GZE was also the bigport model. i talked to my engine builder/machiner and he said they should be fine.

note: i used all ARP stuff in my engine, but it shouldnt make a difference....

Thanks man,

the more info i can get on stuff like this the better,
this was my wonderful surprise when i tore down my gze.

as we speak its sitting in a Bath Of Acid (the block), and its getting a 20thou overbore tommorow, just a pretty simple rebuild besides that, as the bottom end is still in tip top shape, ill get it all looked at propperly thou.

cant wait to drive it. but there is some more shocking news, you may have heard about the new High Powered Vehicle restrictions in VIC....they affect me, haha im only 17, so i cant drive this wonderful car!!! (legally)
By the way tis a gze turbo'd with exhaust, FMIC, digi dash, strut braces and just some other typical stuff.

anyway man, cheers for your help, its nice to know how willing all you guys are to help here http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif

ps. i strongly dislike VicRoads, coz i bought the car before i knew the rules would affect me http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/sad.gif

huw you make engine rebuilds look so very easy

what did your head cost to get rebuilt?

what caused that damage to the piston?
detonation from tune?
what boost you running? GZE pistons are usually pretty strong

well, back in the day when i was a dumb shit apprentice i payed 350 for a head rebuild. thats everything done.
-3 angle valve regrind
-re shim
-clean and pressure test
-faced

blah blah

but now im in good with darren lewis and he looks after me and does AWESOME work. really top notch.

im looking at building a few more engines soon. and heads with cams n shit

yeah the damage looks to be detonation, but there was only 6pound run into it ever, and only ever 98 octane, the VL turbo Pump i've got plus the GZE injectors should never have let it be starved, so im certain the timing must have been WAY out, when i got the car (bought it like this) i noticed that the Coil pack 3&4 were wired 4->3 and 3->4, im not intirely sure if the engine would still run without obvious wack timing, but a mechanic mate of mine said somthing about that it could still fire, and that the 3rd would jsut run super lean and hot as, which makes sense, coz the 3rd piston's inihilated as you can see, but the rest were okay, with a little damage. i know GZE forgies are meant to be bullet proof, i dunno, lets hope the new mahle forgies ive got will not suffer the same fate!

i havent got the manual for a gze BUT when rebuilduing my gze after the ge the head bolts were way tighter than the ge ones i just bort new ones and tweaked then a little tighter than the ge specifys just to be sure!

i think i possibly did that also^^^^ due to the ARP studs
