hi guys..

just got a quick query re: my sprinter

ive noticed in my garage lately that my car is losing a bit of coolant.. ive looked underneath quickly but cant seem to see any noticable loss point... where in particular should i look, and are there any usual spots that leak on a 4age?

hoping its nothing major like a head gasket or water pump etc and that its something simple

...its got a 4age and has a sv11 camry radiator... if that makes a diff

think il just take it to a local radiator specialist and get them to cast an eye over it

Get the front up on stands then get under it while it's running. That should hopefully sort out where it's leaking from.

Otherwise most mechanics should have a tool that clips onto the top of the radiator and lets you pump it up to pressure. Doing that should also show you where the leak is (essentially same effect as the first suggestion, but you can get higher pressures and you don't need the engine running).

Have you checked the bottom hose? It could be slightly loss and letting a drip of coolent out, but i doubt it, best bet would be to get under the car and have a look as Hen said before going to the radiator shop as must of the time if you didnt know them they probably just say the radiator is stuffed and get you to replace it completely. You could even run some stop leak through it for a quick fix but generally doesn't last to long.
