Hey fellas,

Im getting some cams for my small port 16v.
Do you have to specify smallport and bigport when buying cams?
Also for 272 and 264 cams with 8+ lift do you have to run upgraded valve springs, or any other modifications.

Would there be any difference where you run them eg 264 on intake 272 on exhaust?

And finally is there any difference between a smallport and bigport dizzy?

Thanks

The cams are all interchangeable. They all fit. You can even use exhaust cam on inlet.

As for setup, of course everything makes a difference. I would choose to put the longer duration cam (272) on the inlet. But you don't have to. Your next choice is lobe centre position, or cam timing. You need a degree wheel and adjustable gears. Or you could just chuck them in anyhow...

The smallport and bigport dizzy is interchangeable I am told, but not identical.

Dizzy's are interchangeable but quite different in internals. You need to use the dizzy which suits the computer/loom.
