hey fellas...

After several weeks of getting mighty pissed off at my motor after doing a headgasket and being unable to get it going properly, I bought a compression tester to find that there was no comp. at all on cyl 4...Pulled cam covers and found a stuck exhaust valve..

Any ideas on how to fix this...WITHOUT GOING GHETTO AND BASHING WITH A HAMMER???

Thank god these motors are non-interference...

Thanks in advance...

Regards

the motor must of been sitting for a while to stick the valve open.i would get the hammer out have done it befor it works okl! if its beena running engine there is a terminal problem that the valve stuck no oil maybe grit? fix it cos it will just stick again!

pull the exhaust valve off, you may be able to clean enough carbon and shit off the stem to make it move freely again.

A relative of mine had a stuck valve in a ford sidevalve V8 engine once, he started it up and poured water down the carby while keeping the revs up so it wouldnt bog down and stall.

I would take the head off for sure!

water AND brakefluid cleans the carbon off good.

but its not exactly the most environmentally friendly thing to do http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif
