Hi guys,

After doing some reading on club4ag.com here (http://www.club4ag.com/faq%20and%20tech_pages/ECU%20Japan%204age_20v_Black.htm), I've found that the 5 speed and 6 speed blacktop ECUs are different, although only slightly. Just wondering whether the 5 speed or 6 speed ECU would be better suited for use in a hachi with the stock T50? I can understand what the article says, but I wouldn't know what effect this would have on the driving / performance.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

I don't think many people on this forum would have 3 AE111 computers and a dyno to do tests. Any will work. The differences would be very marginal.

Most of the differences you get in a conversion are to do with hooking everything up. Many people are happy to do half the job and drive around with no air temp sensor and things like that. The actualy ecu differences would be small. But I am guessing.

I wonder how the ecu knows what gear your in to change the rev limit? Thats something I would look into.

Exactly my thoughts. Could possibly correlate RPM and speed signal to find the ratio. However I wouldn't take it as gospel. Club4ag is generally good, but it's still an American originated internet fact.

In short it wont make any difference which ECU you use.
