i was wondering the other night when i was lying in about about xmembers and if any 4a xmember (say from an AE82) would mount up to a ke70? anyone care to shed some light on the subject?

no, FWD cross member will obviously not bolt into a RWD car as the gearbox is obviously in the front and the engine is horozontally mounted, no go

just get a 86 crossmember, it bolts straight in, or fab it yourself

From what i've heard (may be wrong) people who fit 4age to KE70 or whatever use the AE86 crossmembers... So no it wont bolt a 4age in. you could put a 4k though?!

ae71 and ae86 cross member are the same and are needed to make a 4a motor bolt in.

ke70 cross member is almost identical to ae71/ae86 exept one of the mounts it either higher or lower. its just easeyer to bolt in a ae71/ae86 then modifiy it.

gear box cross members are all different between the modles, ae86 and ae71 are different although they both have a t-50 box.

but an 86 and 71 gearbox crossmember can still be interchanged...i have an 86 gearbox xmember in my 70 however only one bolt either side is used like a ke70 x member/......
