FS: 16 Watanabes(adelaide)

Hey all,
I have a Galant, and it came with a rather nice set of grey 16" watanabes, however the offset is wrong. They're 16x7, +12 offset, 4x114.3 PCD. Predictably I don't have the centre caps. They are two piece rims, nice chrome rim with a grey centre, and black allen bolts. Look great, minimal to no gutter rash on the chrome, in fact I believe they are freshly reconditioned.

I found more info on the wheel, they are SSR watanabe RS-8's. Basically SSR bought watanabe for a short period of time and produced these wheels. They are not the "full race" magnesium centre watanabes, but they are still quite light, especially compared to the stock 15's on my galant at the moment (they are a 15" alloy).

I'll take some pics of each individual rim if anyone wants.

I've sold the tyres separately, and putting these rims on the car was my next step.. but a nice set of wheels that actually fit my car has come up and I need the money to buy them :D

Asking $900 ono, also I am willing to ship interstate so long as the buyer has no problems paying for registered post and insurance.

I also have an SLR, if anyone really wants microscopic detail and massive file sizes of each rim let me know.

Oh, weight is about 7.5 kg each rim. The centre is pretty tough and you can feel that is the source of all the weight, the rim itself is very light.

unless they did a FWD offset RS series

theres many different types of watas... R and A are for RWD and hang around 0 offset or lower, the rest which are B, F and whatever other letter I can't remember usually suit FWD cars. These could also very well be Black Racing, which are Watanabe look-alikes. You can tell by the different spoke design and usually they have studs.

They aren't Superlites. Performance don't make a 7.5 width Superlite. Do your research before trying to drag down a sale. :2thumbs:

I had a look when I got home, they're 7's. Definitely watanabe, they have the wata logo on them. Oh they're RS-8's.

As far as the offset - they are apparently reconditioned, so it's possible that someone bought a regular offset 16 and had them re-rimmed to be +12. That makes them even more expensive though :D so I like to think it's a standard offset.

EDIT: If there isn't much interest I will probably keep them and make some dodgy landcruiser style guards for the car. I do love them :D
I'd probably trade them for some 15" watanabes in similar condition with decent tyres, or superlites, or a rim that looks much the same of similar quality.
