Hi all i gotta hook up my horn for rwc.
Had a look at the thing and the wires are disconnected, there are two wires near it which im fairly sure are the right ones however i do not know which wire goes to which connection on the horn.
Im fairly sure that the white wire is the earth, and the green is positive. Correct?

here is what the horn looks like, can someone tell me which ones positive and negative go to on this?

Im fairly sure if i get these connections right i should be able to use the horn

Also just the matter of hooking up the boss kit to the horn button

Just got my new hkb boss kit, so the wire sticking out of that should hook up to one of the tabs on a horn button similar to this (below), but i am unsure which one it should connect to.

As for the earth the bit sticking out the side like a triangle would be the earth right? so a wire does not need to be connected to earth the horn button as long as the positive wire coming from the boss kit is hooked up to the right tab?

Cheers for anyone that can give me any info

i had the same problem so i just plug it in either way it works and that triangle bit is also to keep the horn
in place insted of falling out

hope that helps in some way (y)

Some times you have to connect the wire to one of the tabs and run a wire off the other tab and jam it in between the wheet and boss. Thats what i did with my Patrol.

The wire coming through the boss will be the positive, so attach it to either one of the tabs. by pressing the horn button you will complete the circuit. however if it still doesnt work then do as MAD RS said.

funny enuff wired up my mates silvia todayand what a c**t of a job that was!!

trial and error is the best way to go about it...

in the time it took you to take photos and post, you could have wired it up a few different ways to see what works and what doesnt....

the wire coming out from the boss looks like it could possibly be the positive wire, ull need to hook up a negative/ground wire and i find the best place to ground the horn to is a chrimp connector under the nut that holds the bosskit onto the spline

the horn has positive and negative on it, from what i know, it has a constant positive (ie comes on when ignition comes on), the negative however is switched through the horn button. so the horn sounds when that wire in the middle of your steering column is grounded to the chassis (ie steering column) this is the horn buttons job.

IF THIS HELPS...
I replaced my horn button a while ago and this is how i did it (some of this MAY help you..).

The pic that shows the back of the horn button, there are two spade terminals..the one that is in the centre is the positive, and the outer terminal is negative (if you only have 1 wire in the steering recess for the horn then that wire is your negative, i.e. switching your negative to ground, making the horn work)..
If that pic of the horn button isn't the one you are using and the one you are using doesnt have that bar (to hold it in position/make the negative contact)then connect a wire from the outer spade terminal to ground (one end to the spade terminal and the other can be put under the nut that holds the steering wheel on).
My old button was the one in the pic, then i changed it to the type without that bar..

If you have/can get hold of a multi-meter or a test lamp then i can tell you how to find out definately how to find out which wire is positive/negative.
