If you buy a spark plug for the 4age then it would already be gapped to 1.1mm

You could cap it down to 1.0 or 0.9 if you suspect your coil isnt healthy.

I have run 0.7mm before with no troubles (stupid mechanic, not me)

FWIW I just put in NGK Iridium plugs BKR6EIX and the 4age loves it, very smooth idle, plenty more response, less throttle for power. How they'll go after a few thousand kms only time will tell.

I thought smallports were 0.8mm gap and bigports 1.1mm

sorry to hi-jack the thread but I have been wondering for awhile, would this gap change if you ran a thinner head gasket?

I got mine on ebay for 70 shipped 2 me from 999 automotive. But I think that new ae86dc sponsor does em for like 60+postage, so yeah anywhere around 17-20 each would be about right.

All 4ages would be about the same, maybe smallport has a smaller gap because the higher compression.

But if your coil/s are healthy as too your leads and plugs then anything around 0.8-1.1 will be fine. Good fuel helps too.

And id have to say no, gap wont change with thinner headgasket.

But doesnt running a thinner gasket up the compression and if so, in your thoery of smallports running a smaller gap due the high compression then this would apply too if you ran a thinner gasket?

yeah I think anywhere between 15-20 is a good price (denso are $15-16 a plug I think)...dont pay $25-30 a plug (NGK iridium) from auto shops though, buy them off JDM Pitstop or 999 automotive.
