how exactly do you lock a dif up? arc welder and jam the gears or are they actually fused? difs centres are usually cast iron arent they so you can't weld them. just yeah ne info wuld rock thanx :2thumbs:

Search. I think I've written about this at least half a dozen times. Just weld it hot and good.

You can weld cast iron. You can weld any lump of iron/steel, but if it's a big lump you just have to make sure it's all hot otherwise the weld will crack once it cools. For a diff, the oxy torch has not worked well for me. A TIG will work if you take time, and turn it up to max amps etc. Beat and easiest to use a MIG. If you are stick welding you will have to pre-heat it with the oxy first and be a pro at stick welding.

I just got in there with the stick and pretty much filled in the gaps between the gears. mind, I think I used about 6 sticks in there. haven't had any trouble with it yet, though I've only had it on the track a few times.
