guys, was parked at the supermarket and as i went to start the car up there was a small bang (kinda like a fuse blowing but louder) sort of sounded like there was some ignition and it was shooting some exhaust down the headers..

anyway, the car started straight away after this mishap except now my idle is really screwed. not just hunting, but the car is reving by itself (on idle) up and down to about 3500rpm

any ideas?

FYI its a rebuilt 4age running a wolf 3d..

cheers in advance!!

alot of 4ag's have an idel problem, having a unstedy idel like you are bliping the throttel..?

if its like this i would dought these anything to worry about, it wont harm your motor, just it will get on your nervs quickly...

if its revving by itself upto 3500 i think that is something to worry bout.

does it drive ok? no lacking power? just the idle thats no good?

its def a prob.. the car has always had a slight hunt every now and then but this if a different problem. it is reving from 800-3500rpm by itself... up and down, up and down...

gonna jump in the garage now and have a geez, see if i can see anything...where is the map sensor hose?

ill prob take it to the place that fitted the wolf if i can fix it as im a little worried
