Its pretty simple, just changed one myself this arvo.
Just make sure you mark everything up, as in TDC on crank and pulleys are lined up, and mark where the dizzy/CAS is set to.
Save yourself heaps of cash :)

just learn how to do it yourself man! thats half the fun, ive never put new cams in, but ive put old ones back in my old 323, adjusting the valve clearances and such with feeler guages. it will be the same as it sais in the 4age manual for putting original ones in, just have to adjust the valve clearance a bit differently, to accomodate the higher lift or whatever the new cams have.

its easy to do if you have adjustable rockers, like on K series engines.

but with cam on bucket, you need to have the correct shim sizes and use a calculation to get the correct gap. if you dont have access to shims and the like then you are going to struggle to do it at home in the shed.

also, you will need a degree wheel and dial indicator to do the job properly. which i suspect dan doesnt have.

mm good point, camshafts were on my to do list when i get my car, but i've never set shims and a guy at work specialises in isuzu's, rodeo's and jackaroo's (also shim adjustment), and i know he fucking hates doing them sometimes

yes, i do shim adjustment on the same cars at work, i can vouch for the mega gheyness of adjusting shims.

maths is involved also, there is a good calculation you need to know in order to get the right shim
