hey guys, sorry for the copy and paste from my members car thread, but i need this to get some more exposure.
the other day callum and i swapped the diff in my ae71
but i had a problem with one of the 4 links... read on;
righto the bitch of a 4link rod (is that what its called? ) its the one closest to the drum, on the passenger side.

the only way we could install the new diff was if we cut the brackets off the old diff... which once complete left this: i had to have the diff in that day because the car wasnt at my house, and it needed to be gone from my mates by that night. i had no choice.

now just note, that this bolt WILL NOT COME OUT. its like sealed itself in there.
once we bolted in the new diff, we obviously couldnt attach this 4link because that fuckin bolt wouldn't come out, so as a temporary mesure, we did this:

NOTE: FOR THE SAME REASON, THE BOLT THAT HOLDS THE OTHER END TO THE CAR IS ALSO STUCK IN THE SAME MANNER.
needless to say, the car was really bad to drive.... but once i got it to my house (dont ask, im still pissed about it) i devised a plan to get this whole 4link rod off.
by attacking the 'car side' of the rod and angle grinding where the arrows are:

this would allow the 4link rod to be completely droped out of the car (otherside is attached to diff with zipties, lolz) and bolt up a new one.
so, what do we think of the plan? will it work? what am i to look out for? is it gonna be more of a pain in the arse angle grinding that 4link rod? am i missing anything?
input would be really great fellas... once this is done im gonna thrash this car so hard, given the amount of frustration its caused. just a reminder, if the bracket on the chassie is damaged, the car will be written off.
im also thinking maybe getting a bolt removal specialist to remove the bolt on the chassie side, allowing me to bolt up another 4link rod that i have.
