Wiring is a piece of cake, just download the S13 workshop manual (CA18 manual is fine) and use that, should take you under a day easily.

Find what colour wires provide power from ae86 side and find what wires on thje sr20 side need power. It will simply be either batt, ign(signal or relay depending on how much power it needs) and earths.

Like I said download the wiring diagram in the workshop manual.
Basically you just need to supply power and earth to the SR engine loom (via the SR20 fusebox).
No one will tell you which wire to connect to which step by step.

we just did the wiring in bahnuggets hachi (ca18det). apparently its identicle to sr20 wiring, once you run the loom around your engine bay, there is a plug up near the fuse box (that would normally plug into the fuse box in s13) this plug has everythign you need in it. cept you gota ground some earths at the ecu i think....it was suprisingly simple once you read the wiring diagrams. you gota put 2 relays in, one for the ecu (main efi relay) and another to run your fuel pump/s. you use the carby solenoid wire to trigger the efi relay, and then theres a wire in that plug that turns on your fuel pump relay, and thats pretty much all you gota do....
its hard to explain in text
as for radiator, just use your standard one, and if it gets to hot then replace it with a twin core one, should be able to find one from the wreckers
there are many ppl on here with 4agte/nissan engines that just run standard radiator, and dont have any troubles

I dont understand why so many people are going for the Sr into AE86. Toyota's own 2 litre twin cam turbo aka 3SGTE is known for being stronger, more reliable and has more power and torque than an SR, and is just as easy to convert. Yeah, the 3s may not come in North-South orientation, but the bellhousings are aplenty and gearbox's go straight into them, therefore making the work just as easy. You could even run the standard ECU with it.
My 2 cents worth, i just dont get why people chop and change, mix and match brands of shells to bodies, its no longer a Toyota, its a Toysan.

will take pics of the looms i have tomorrow, worst comes to worst i will pay someone to do it.. reason why im tryin to see whats involve is because i wire up audio n alarms, turbo timers, guages, rsm ..etc etc all day long at Autobarn and ppl i've spoken to rkn its not that hard, just takes time..
will be looking at my looms i have tomorrow

its all about aftermarket support and knowledge base....
its not only here in australia its done, SR20 AE86's are more common in Japan and the US than wat a 3S one would be....

i used the standard radiator on my ca, it didnt last that long, the end tanks are back to front for a sr, i used a r32 one for a little while, but that wont help you, im gonna run a just jap 3 core radiator and au thermo fans, au thermos flow like 3000 cubic feet or something which is twice as much then any thin youll find at super cheap, and there like only $150 max

I've heard many people say lots of good things about the 3S.
But in the end the only 3S conversions I have seen are NA with the Beams motor.
Must be some reason why no one does it, perhaps related to ease and cost?
Being a brand nazi sucks though :). Who cares about brands, use the best/cheapest etc you can get! Restricting yourself based on a badge is slightly silly...
And yes the CA and SR wiring are the same :).
Pinouts on the ECU are different but the rest is the same and you won't do anything with the ECU pinouts anyways.

serious?? ive got plenty of mates running high powered (240rwkw) Ca18's and a Rb20 radiator.....the temperature doesnt go over 85 degrees even after countless laps on the track on a reasonable temperature day
on a Sr20 sprinter, use the standard SR radiator....s14/15 is slightly better than S13.....or there is a camry model that is a heap better radiator which will bolt up with little amount of modification

Hey mate, Howd you go with the wiring on the weekend. I'm doing the same conversion and am up to the wiring too. I'd really appreciate it if you can inform us of what you needed to connect up.
As for radiater. I'm planning on using a twincore out of a Celica GT4. I've fitted it to my 86 now with the 4age and works a treat. Temps never get above 70 (in traffic) and stay around 60 when moving (is this to low for a 4age?).

update... engine loom wired up, pretty much wire it all up and run the loom inside and power up the IGN S/W
theres a few looms in there that i prob dont need, so temp to cut but i dont think its a good idea till car is up n running..
with wiring its not hard one bit.. just takes time

i hate to state the obvious, but put the bonnet on and see for yourself?
as for radiator, if your gonna upgrade it , really gota try and get a dual core one (is that the right term?) we got a camry radiator from the wreckers (sv21) and it was exactly same as ae86 but about 1/3 longer, which is good, but when you mount it, the extra 1/3 was behind all the headlights and stuff, so didnt get any flow anyway. gota try and get one about the same size as ae86, but thicker. thats my thinking anyway.
