Hey guys, looking at some new rollers for my ute, want a few other peoples opinions as i really am torn between the two options....

Yes, i know this is completely un jap car related, hence in the general discussion section!!!

By the way, i will be getting whatever option i (with the consideration of opinions on here!!) decide in a 19x8 inch size! Keep in mind these are going under a black late model Commodore ute.

Can we try not to let a slag off occur here, as i know there are alot of single minded anti ricers on here!!! lol

So here's the options guys....

1) http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/4/8/4/3/152905.jpg

That is a genuine HSV wheel, rare as hen's teeth and dear as gold shit!

2) http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/4/8/4/3/152906.jpg

Lenso Speed Six which i really dont mind and my mate had fitted to his XR6 when he had it...

So what does everyone reckon?? Cheers

PS Justin, (or anyone else handy on the photoshop!) if you've got a spare few minutes would you wanna have a crack at trying each of those wheels on my ute?!? Here is the only pic i have, cheers in advance!

top ones look better, but i reckon you could get some nicer wheels and cheaper

just my 2 cents

For looks, the hsv ones do it for me, they look tough as nails. But you gotta remember, hsv's have bigger brakes to fill those rims so they might look a bit weird with stocko brakes. And they are pretty pricey. Lenso's would look pretty nice too and a bit cheaper so they would be hte more logical choice

The standard rims look fine when lowered. Only decent Aussie wheel is the ROH Modena, a pimp looking wheel.

What ever you do, get the offset right mang.

Surely something with a bit more dish mate :P

I'd love to say the second set, but they are a little too chunky. I like the thin spokes of the HSV but not the style.

How about:

RJR Chopper wheels. Don't mind the style of them at all, they are a good sport ute rim.

Cant you see, it has been lowered 3 inches already!!! lol  gonna drop nother inch out of it once wheels are on...

Not really a fan of the Modena, im into more of a clean basic wheel not so much of a fancy wheel.

And i'll be sure to watch that offset!!!

if it's a work vehicle don't bother bout it, however if your heart is content on rims then maybe go for option one, otherwise burn up some more steelies!!! LOL

don't know you medwin, and certainly don't wanna be negative... but i assume u have an 86 or XE7X..

surely your ute is for business...... basically i vote for puttin the dollars into your 'yota.

not flaming, but i'm pretty sure anyone who sees your ute won't give a damn about it's rims.

sorry if i sound negative, i'm only trying to help, and put myself in ur shoes.

`if youre dead keen on different rims for your ute... i'd go to your nearest 2nd hand tyre place and pick up some old dishys for a couple of hundred. seriously, you'll regret it if you dump $500+ for somethin on ur work car which makes f**k all difference.

Certainly do have an 86, check the members rides for the build up.... :2thumbs: And there's plenty of $$ going into my toyota!!!!

Ute is owned by me/my business but i use it as my private car (business owns it purely for tax purposes!)

I was pretty happy with how it looks atm but there's starting to become a few more and more each week of the same model around this area, so time to step it up a notch. Its in need of new tyres, so i may as well throw some new rims on there too i figure.

Thanks for the opinions guys!

Id got the HSV wheels look alot better then the other option. Have you considered any Simmons wheels? I have seen the mesh spoke type on a couple of commowhores in my area and they suit them quite well

commodore utes are in the same class as starlets n barinas in that they have to have huge rims on them to look any good. go for some chromies aye. but if i had to choose between those 2 i wuld choose the bottom lexo ones
