I have to write a paper for my year 12 studdies of societys class. Its on divorce in Australia its worth 40% of my final grade! I need to have surveys as a form of research so if its possible can you please fill it out for me.

I believe most Males receive the bad end of a custody decision as precedents have been set in the past favouring females even when they shouldn't have custody. However it does depend on each situation, such as violence/abuse history, work commitments, money.

males dont draw the short straw. more percentage of kids choose to be with their mothers. i know i did at the time, not because i loved mum more, but just because she lived closer to my school :P i used to and still see my dad heaps, and now that i got my licence i go there during the week aswell.

sorry, went off on a tangent :P some blokes might get the shit end of the stick but i dont reckon its across the board.

I think it depends on the situation at hand, ie; who is more stable of the two? Will either just stay drunk and have random hookups? Who will bring up the child/ren in a better environment.

- Personality/Interest Mismatches. An exagerated eg. A bright bubbly female into drifting coupled with a quiet, anti-social computer loving male, obviously they would not get along too well.
- The male is a wife beater or child abuser of some sort

Sometimes the father is more deserving of the children, sometimes not, depends which parent actually parents properly in my opinion.

I think it depends on which party perpetrates the reason for the cause of the divorce (ie provable physical violence history of mother/father) The children should be placed firstly where they are the safest, and secondly where they are best provided for
