I did a quick search and couldnt find much (doesnt help that you cant actually search for 'lsd')

I bought a JDM T-series that has been rebuilt at some stage (I know this because of the new wheel bearings and 4.77:1 it has in it)
But I have no idea what kind of diff it has... I'm assuming its a LSD, but I have no idea what brand or what type... how do I work this out?!
I've taken the diff housing out, and had a poke around in there and see no markings, but not being a diff expert I don't know what to look for.

Help~! :)

looks just like my TRD centre (cast finish) a lot of the others (KAAZ, Cusco etc) have a nice machined finish.

hard part with the TRD unit is its normally very hard to see the ramp arrangement, yours looks to be a bit different though. in the housing there are 4 "windows" these are used to view the "cam" and ramp, hard to describe but i stole this pic of Bill Sherwood but it explains the action and gives you a good idea of what to look for ;)

basically if you see a diamond shape through the window you have a 2 way.

i know with my unit i couldn't see the cam and ramp :( it was possibly reassembled so they didn't line up with the windows, which is shit but it at least means it had been pulled apart and tinkered with as the seller had suggested
