Hi all,
Ok. the time has come where i need to buy bearings for my Bigport 4AGE engine. Im getting ACL gear. So i ring them up and i tell them what i need (i've got a 40mm crank). Then they tell me sorry you've got a 4AFE engine. Now i know that the 4AFE has the same Big end journal size, but im still confused as to why they all keep saying i have a 4AFE when clearly i don't.

Is it all right to buy 4AFE bearings if they are the same sizes? Even Toyota said i have a 4AFE when i rang them also!! I really need to figure this out because i dont want to get the wrong bearings and then screw my crank.

Help!! Cheers
Dan

I had a look and they still only have a listing for the 42mm crank.

if acl can gaurentee that the 4afe one would fit then your set, I see no reason why they wouldn't

Would there be any difference in the quality between fe and ge bearings??

If the dimensions match you'll be fine. ACL may do a bunch of different levels of bearing (normal, sick, fully sick, hektik, etc...) and only some may be available for GE or FE, but there should be no quality difference between a certain level for different engines.
