Yes it has very obviously been modified.

Standard ones point upward or forward, not sure, somebody with a GZE in their car will be able to tell you.

not sure... it's pretty big for my application though! i don't think hybrids come smaller thought... do they?

it'll do the job well... really well hopefully, but i won't be suprised if i get some SC lag...

my core looks wider than your one. will have to have another look tho. i dont get any sc lag just have to get the idle set higher or it surges.

hopefully the aftermarket ecu will look after the hunting on mine ;)

100% it has been modified. ith should be pointing up and should be triangle shaped.

Definately been modified.

Like the other guys mine is pointing forward, i dont know why you would want it going through there unless you had a mammoth size intercooler you needed to get the piping to the side of

that being said that one in the pic above is fairly decent for an 86.

mine's about 440 wide, the guys at the workshop i went to the other day said 300x225x55 is a 'common' size for a ze application.

and VeRm69, i have a microtech running mine and it still hunts alot when its cold, its all in the tune me thinks

here is a pic of my outlet

nice! thats tidy as!

yeah, i was HOPING it would solve the problem, but if it doesn't i'll just have to have a crack at the bigger Throttle body mod by mattyshop ^_^

and i'll get it tuned by PITS and by all accounts he's a pretty god dam good tuner...

The cause of hunting idle on ZEs is the massive volume from throttle to engine. It means any changes in manifold pressure at idle happen SLOWLY. So you need to track your idle very slowly. Aftermarket management lets you fiddle with this a bit, but doesn't address the root of the problem.

If you have trouble just slow your tracking down, lift the idle speed a bit and set the default ISCV opening a little high to prevent falling through idle and stalling.

ill be getting a new outlet soon then. Mine doesn't hunt at all anymore after tuning just idles higher than standard around 1400rpm.
