Diferences between bigport and smallports

I am concidering building a smallport 4age for my keto but I need to know what to look for.
So is there any obvious things to look for so that I dont get a bigport. I also plan to use 20 valve quads.

The Bigport 4AGE's have "TVIS" on the top of the intake manifold and the Smallport's don't. The Bigports intake manifold is also smooth on top as opposed to the ribbed top of the smallport intake manifold:

This is wrong. Early bigports had the "16 valve" in blue, while the later bigports(~8705 onwards?) had the "16 valve" in red. On the smallport the entire "twincam 16 valve" is red

yea i know that now from the pics.my reasoning was that the bigport in my ae82 (1985) has blue writing. and all the smallports if seen had red writing on them. but meh, your right.

No. Big port gze has afm and small port gze has map. That's the easiest way to tell them apart.
